We stock all kinds of shotguns and if
we don't have it we'll try to get it for you. It
doesn't matter if you are Pawpaw looking for your grandchild's
first single shot .410 or Mr. Outdoors wading through sub-zero
degree water trying to slay a duck. We aim to outfit your gun
needs for any occasion.
Also, don't forget that we also accept
trades on your old guns. If you have any old Browning
A-5 Sweet Sixteen mint condition shotguns in your way or an old
Winchester Model 12 or Model 42 in your way, we will be glad to
help you get the "JUNK" out of your closet. There is one
more thing I would like to mention. My brothers and I grew
up before the dawn of the federally mandated trigger lock. My
father always had guns in his unlocked cabinets. I really could
not say if they were loaded or not. I will tell you, however,
the reason I don't know if they were loaded is due to the fact
my father told me not to touch them if he wasn't there. Back in
those days, that was all a kid needed to hear. In my estimation,
if I had gotten caught "screwing around' with Dad's guns, I
might have well killed myself, because that is what he would had
done to me. I wish we could go back to the time when a child
listened to a parent and used Coleman stove fuel in his stove
instead of making bombs or drugs out of it. |

I love shotguns, they are my thing.
I guess people tend to collect things they know, especially
things from their childhood. For as long as I can remember my
father always had shotguns. For him the Remington model 1100
shotguns were his thing. He bought his first one due to a slight
rust problem. Please allow me to explain. When my parents first
got married money was tight. My father loved to hunt dove, but
found himself without a shotgun at the beginning of the season.
He decided to call my mothers uncle to borrow one. |
|
|
He went to pick up my great uncles' pride and
joy, a 12 gauge 1100. The hunt
went along with great success until the sky parted and the rains
came. Everyone in the dove field ran to their trucks for cover. A
handful of the hunters decided to grab a bite to eat before heading
home. My father finally arrived home, but when he got there he was
worn out and went directly to bed after a hot shower. Anyone can
imagine what the gun looked like 2 weeks later when he got ready to
clean the gun so it could be returned to the owner. OH MY GOD!!!
Just a side note, never ,ever store a gun in one of those god
forsaken zippered gun bags, especially if it has been through a
torrential downpour. The gun bags tend to hold moisture and promote
rust. So now we have a major problem. It is time to return a gun we
borrowed , but it doesn't appear to be the same shotgun due to the
rust. Long story somewhat shorter, my father had to buy my mothers
uncle a brand new gun to replace the rusted one. The only bright
side to the story is , my father had the rusted gun restored and
that was the gun that started his Remington 1100 collecting. |
